I’m still seeing it as an accident :( The comment she makes about how light and fragile they are, plus the comment about the neck supporting “that much weight.” She tells the baby he’s “not going to have to cry much longer” which makes me think she’s referring to the coming attack. Then her eyes widen and her eyebrows raise at the sound of his neck snapping. Then there’s the look of remorse as she walks away. It could be construed as a mercy killing, but I really don’t believe she did that.

Obviously I have been thinking about this way too much.
